The procedure is very popular among post-pregnancy women, as well as others who have experienced a significant weight reduction. It also is an effective way to reduce the appearance of stretch marks in the area. Abdominoplasty is not a weight reduction surgery. After it has been decided that a tummy tuck is right for you, there is some minimal pre-operative evaluation that we will ask you to perform. This will be based on your age and overall health. We recommend that if you plan to lose a significant amount of weight, you do it before you schedule your surgery.

Recovery from a tummy tuck varies greatly among patients. Because the surgery is performed at the core areas of the body, movement can be uncomfortable for several days afterward. This discomfort is usually well controlled with oral pain medications. We also have our patients use an abdominal binder for one to two weeks. There will be scheduled follow-ups during this period and the patient may need slightly more time before getting back to work or lifting, compared with other cosmetic surgeries.

The price of a tummy tuck varies and is based on the size of the patient and the amount of surgery that must be performed.
