Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure in which the patients breast is enhanced to achieve a cosmetic or aesthetic result. Typically this is accomplished using a breast implant. Implants can be either saline filled or silicone filled and each implant has its own unique characteristics. There are many ways to perform breast augmentation with regards to the surgical approach and placement of the implant. We have found through years of surgeries and thousands of patients that patients are most satisfied with an inframammary approach and a submuscular placement of the implants. Patients post procedure are left with larger more aesthetically appealing breasts.

Pre-operative

Patients that decide to have breast augmentation will need to have some minimal pre-operative medical evaluation conducted. This will be based mostly on your age and medical history. During consultation the surgeon will discuss the risks and benefits of the surgery and attempt to answer any questions you may have. This will also be the time when you decide on which type of implant you would like and the approximate size you would like to achieve.

Post-operative

Recovery is relatively easy post breast augmentation compared to other surgical procedures. There is usually a period of time right after surgery when the breasts are considerably swollen and tender. Pain control is usually accomplished with rest and prescription pain medications if needed. Patients return to the office several times post procedure for check-ups and suture removal if necessary. After about a week to 10 days the surgeons will ask that you start a serious of exercises to maximize your results. -Usually at or around 6-8 weeks post procedure your post operative pictures will be taken and you will need to follow up on an as needed basis only.

Pricing varies based on the type of implant that is placed. During consultation a quote will be given taking into account the surgeons fee as well as anesthesia fees.
