The “Tummy Tuck” or more clinically applicable abdominoplasty, is a procedure in which excess skin and fat is removed from the patient’s anterior abdominal area. The surgeon removes skin and fat and in turn, tightens and improves the overall aesthetic appearance of the area. Careful attention is made to hide scarring low on the bikini line. The procedure is very popular among post pregnancy women as well as others who have experienced a significant weight reduction. It is also an effective way to reduce the appearance of stretch marks in the area as well. Abdominoplasty is not a weight reduction surgery. A consultation can determine if abdominoplasty would be the right choice for you. Sometimes, liposuction is the better choice.

Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure in which the patients breast is enhanced to achieve a cosmetic or aesthetic result. Typically this is accomplished using a breast implant. Implants can be either saline filled or silicone filled and each implant has its own unique characteristics. There are many ways to perform breast augmentation with regards to the surgical approach and placement of the implant. We have found through years of surgeries and thousands of patients that patients are most satisfied with an inframammary approach and a submuscular placement of the implants. Patients post procedure are left with larger more aesthetically appealing breasts.

Laser Resurfacing
Ablative and mimimally ablative forms of laser are used to heat the patients soft tissue and skin to remove the dead outer layer as well as heat the patient’s dermis. This in turn stimulates the patient’s own collagen to contract and repair itself. After this process has occurred, over days to weeks, the patient’s skin looks healthier and more youthful.

Breast Reconstruction
Breast reconstruction is typically performed after mastectomy in some breast cancer patients. Reconstruction is an involved process that takes time to achieve the best cosmetic result possible. Typically after the breast tissue is removed by a general surgeon the breast reconstruction takes place as either an immediate or delayed sub type. In the immediate breast reconstruction patient the plastic surgeon places a tissue expander at the time of mastectomy. In the delayed reconstruction patient the tissue expander is placed after the patient has healed some time after the mastectomy. The tissue expander is filled with fluid weekly to achieve a pocket for the permanent implant to be placed. This process can take up to several months. When the pocket has formed the permanent implant is then placed. At times nipple reconstruction is performed as well.
